Would you have been willing to take it unpaid or worked a holiday later in the year that you were planning to have off?  We give off a certain number of holidays and let our nanny pick from the federal holidays.  We do not get most of them off or, if we take them, they count as a vacation day against our yearly limit. Sorry for the late response. The agreement is that I take all the federal holidays they have off. There were no excuse here. They knew but just decided not to give me the day off. They just took advantage of the fact that the holiday was given at the last minute and acted as if nothing happened.[/quote]

Have you talked to them about this?  You were short-changed, PP, and your employers broke their agreement with you. Please hash this out with them and be honest about your feelings.  You deserve compensation for their mistake.  [/quote]
