You will definitely have qualified applicants at $20/ hour. You can always offer more if you find a great nanny who asks for more. Keep in mind you will want to offer a raise at 1 year and need to consider overtime in your budget.
Do you know anyone qualified for that rate?
Our previous nanny was great and with a ton of experience. She was fine with $20/ hr for one child. I also know plenty of parents paying that rate. And of course, some pay more, some pay less but I promise you will have a lot of qualified applicants for that price especially if the other perks are good. And of course, as with any job, everyone has the ability to turn down a job offer if it is too low.
