If the kids hurt someone while driving and don’t have a license, isn’t that a criminal issue? They are green card holders, not citizens so if they commit a crime, deportation is a likely consequence, isn’t it?

And whatever “insurance” they have on the car would not be valid for an unlicensed driver, correct?

I used to have a lot of compassion for them since they are new here but that is quickly evaporating because I have tried so many times to tell them this is a big deal and why and also given her PAID TIME OFF  to try and get this sorted and they just kinda don’t care.[/quote]

And if it happens on federal land - BW Parkway, GW Parkway, and similar, it becomes a federal criminal issue.

I’d be concerned about hiring someone to care for my child when the person shows little respect for laws, rules, and regulations.  And I definitely wouldn’t be lending her money - that makes you complicit in her malfeasance.[/quote]

I’m not complicit. She asked for a small loan and I agreed. Maybe she’s using it to fix the car and will then sell it, maybe her kids will get their licenses before they drive it again, etc. It’s not my place to get that up in her business. [/quote]
