You should absolutely be compensated for your time, OP. But wanting to leave at 5 (or whatever time) on the dot may not be realistic for these parents if they have one of the many, many jobs in this world that sometimes require you to stay a few minutes late (without additional compensation!) And if that's the case, maybe this isn't the job for you. [/quote]
