Maybe someone gave them a puppy as a gift.  She got fired.  She got no notice, so neither did you.  Apply for unemployment and get a new job.  A nanny is not a parent or family member.  You are making yourself out to have a more important role than they feel you have.  You are a caretaker.  Do you think she said goodbye to her students?  Probably not. Stop making excuses for OP'S cretin MB!  Teacher's have unions and the Unionshave policies regarding lay off, firing.  Her MB was not left empty handed.  Also puppies cost money and if you just got laid off you shod not be incurring added expenses.
