Maybe someone gave them a puppy as a gift. She got fired. She got no notice, so neither did you. Apply for unemployment and get a new job. A nanny is not a parent or family member. You are making yourself out to have a more important role than they feel you have. You are a caretaker. Do you think she said goodbye to her students? Probably not. She probably lost 30 of them.

In that case, she should never have hired a nanny and should have used day care.
Hahaha what? If you have to work to afford a nanny, you shouldn't have a nanny? Most people work for the money they need to pay for things, including childcare.
OP, I'm sorry this happened to you, and I'm sorry for your MB. I definitely feel that she could have handled it better, but she was probably reeling from getting let go herself. Good luck finding another position quickly!

(1/3) Things aren't great. Got a pink slip. District is in bad financial crisis. Since I was one of the most recent hired, they l (2/3) et me go first. Financially we can't afford someone to watch Larla anymore. I'm sorry about the last minute notice, but we have to start saving money asap. (3/3) . My sister needed to borrow the carseat. We wish you all the best. Thanks for everything. We will write you a recommendation.
I am speechless. No notice. Didn't even get to say goodbye to the children. I am so hurt.
Oh, my God, OP, I am so sorry! What an asshole!!!

Just curious, are pink slips usually handed out on Fridays? Mb is a teacher. Did she probably have more notice and just didn't tell me?! So inconsiderate.
