Legal wage is different in different states, for different ages, for different job types.... There's no way for care to police that.

Come off it. High school kids don't use care. But even THEY earn minimum wage, usually $10-15/hr here.[/quote]

Care.com has a specific process for 14-17 year olds to use the site. And you may not consider it market rate, but the fact remains as low as $4.75/he is often legal wage for these sitters. [/quote]

Since most of us know there's no known so-called market rate for babysitters (or any of the domestic workers for that matter), people like you can always find desperate workers for $1/hr. In your book it's legal.[/quote]
