OP here.  full day preschool sounds most likely (we live in an older house that doesn't have a ton of extra space, so an au pair would be uncomfortable).  I know this sounds weird, but one of the reasons we are staying with our nanny is that we feel so loyal to her and cannot imagine getting rid of her.  She has been wonderful in helping us raise our son and has become like part of the family. [/quote]
