Fire here and hire a new one when your leave is up. There are so many great qualified nannies out there.
Really? WHERE??? I haven't seen a nanny not glued to her phone in the last year.
Because you don't notice the ones who are actually doing their job. It is best to hire one over the age of 35. My nanny doesn't even have a data plan. There's not much for her to do on the phone anyway.
No, I am a children's librarian and I see nannies every single day. I have an older and wonderful nanny who carries a flip phone that only DH and I have the number to - but I have never known or seen a nanny as good as she is (she was a former preschool teacher and is a brilliant teacher). Trust me - I know who the nannies are and who the mothers are. Once the nannies are out of the sight of the nanny cam, the cell phone use is CONSTANT. If you have a great nanny - like we do - you are never so cavalier about "just get another nanny" when anything goes wrong. My advice, OP, is to back the hell down and stop the constant texting. Let your nanny do the job she was hired to do and fulfill the responsibility she will have when you go back to work.
