That is actually not true.  What you may think of as simply a part of their personality or age (like clinginess, crying, aggressiveness, moodiness, etc) is actually a result of being ignored by the nanny.  [/quote]
I've been a nanny for a long time in northern va and I can count on 1 hand how many times I have seen nannies outright ignoring or harming a child. Yes foreign nannies / aupairs are typically on their phones but for the most part I see wonderful nannies playing with and engaging their charges. Even the ones on their phones care about and engage with the children.[/quote]

Oddly, as a nanny mu experience has been the exact opposite.  The nannies on their phones are ignoring their little charges and the charges, as in OP's experience, are acting out for attention.  Where are you located?
