OP here- I love the kiddos been with the twins since the first set was 4 weeks old. We have a great schedule, and I think that the 4 day work week would be fantastic. Its not so much the long days but the amount of long days. I guess I am just worried that I am asking for to much to bring in a 2nd person that was my initial thought but I ran it by my dh and he said it was a bad idea, so I started second guessing myself. How hard would it be to find someone for one day a week 10 hours @ roughly $200 for the day?
I'm the previous mother of twins. I think it would be hard to find someone good for this job for just one day. And as the mom I would rather not have to juggle multiple caregivers (though having a backup caregiver could be a good thing.) There are a lot of scheduling things w/ managing twins, and I think finding someone to be a part of the team with you and the parents could be tricky. I would rather find other ways to support you but still have you there full time, frankly. I trust our nanny utterly w/ our kids, and I don't say that lightly. I also know she knows how to wrangle twins, and not everyone can do that. Clearly you need a carefully thought out conversation, but I'd really be sure you know what you are and aren't willing to do (and stick with for a while) before asking them to modify the job.
