Any nanny that refuses to do it is probably stupid in other ways so I would cross her off the list of potential hires.
I get extremely sick when I get the flu vaccine. I have all the others, but for some reason am sick for days after that one. Does that make me stupid? Would you let like to know what else makes swmoneone stupid? Making broad generalizations.
I think you should be able to understand that all this thread concerns nannies who do not have any specific problem and still refuse vaccination. obviously nobody would ask a nanny who had a severe reaction to a vaccine to do it again. however, as others have said before, while you are the right, and in your case a good reason, to refuse the vaccine, parents have the right to know it and have plenty right and reason not to hire you. whatever the reason you do not get the vaccine, at the end you are not vaccinated and thus more likely to get sick and expose a child to the illness. If I had an infant, I would certainly never force you to get vaccinated, but I would not hire you because I would like to keep my baby as safe as possible (and this is the reason my DH and I started getting the flu vaccine when I was pregnant with our first child, and have got the vaccine every year since). same for measles vaccine and all others. if you don't get them, you don't work for me, especially if I have a baby too young to get vaccinated
