OP, it won't be very comfortable for her - but assuming there isn't a lot else going on in the basement (i.e. laundry, grandpa's workshop, an extra freezer you'll need to get into frequently...) then the privacy will offset the lack of comfortable accommodations. If there is a lot going on, please take PPs advice and offer your nanny/request from your parents some extended "quiet time" where no on goes into the basement or makes a ruckus above. This should include at least two hours before she normally goes to bed and should end no later than half an hour before she's expected to start work.

You should talk to your nanny and see what she'd like. If it were me I'd want some screens, like others mentioned, a comfortable chair to sit in (otherwise all her off time will be spent sitting in bed??), and some kind of table or desk (with chair) - also please ensure the wifi works in the basement![/quote]
