I'm a nanny in LA and have had all fantastic experiences except one horrible temp job. My advice: visit la first and see if you like it. I love it here and wouldn't want to move anytime soon, but obviously some people don't feel the same way. (I will say if you want to find negatives you'll find them, and same with positives.) I am a young nanny in school and make 20+ an hour but rent is also really expensive here. I've worked for amazing families! Look into Westside Nannies. Best agency!
Westside is def the best agency... I was an LA nanny bu now I work in Orange County in newport/ corona del mar. I found m family through deddicated domestics ( not the best) but not horrible either. The job is great but they don't negotiate for you, which I think is sub par. However the area is very wealthy so not too hard to find a $17-25hr job if you ave exp. pp.^^^ care.com is aweful I am glad you had luck on there but It's rare. I would def go with an agency.
