OP here. When I arrived at work on Thursday morning MB was very apologetic about the missing pay. Normally she leaves about an hour after I arrive, so when she walked to the back of the house as soon as I got there, I assumed that she had gone to get her purse so that she could pay me. Nope. She had snuck out of the house. I reached the back door as the garage door finished closing. Her normal routine involves kissing the baby goodbye over and over, but had left without a single goodbye of any kind. I had told her earlier in the week that I would not be able to work if she did not pay me. Apparently she doesn't care. Who leaves their child like that?! I didn't bother calling her, I left a message for DB instead. He came home, paid me, and begged me to stay until the end of April. I told him that I would stay until then, but only if he would guarantee that I am paid on time which he did. I am actively looking for another position in the meantime. MB behaved very strangely this morning. She's upset because I informed DB of the ongoing problems. DB went over the new agreement with her before I arrived this afternoon. MB sat me down and and emphasized that I would be paid every two weeks on Monday. She touched on the partial pay issue and had the gall to refer to one of their partial payments as "gas money that you needed" as if I had asked for an pay advance or a loan. (It was a partial payment for a paycheck due that day. The night before, she had decided to change the pay schedule from weekly to twice a month. My input was not sought.) MB then went on and on about how I am never to put up photos of the baby online. We had discussed it durning the interview process, why spend 15 minutes telling me how angry it would make you if you discovered that I had put some up when I have just told you that I don't ever put photos up no matter how cute and innocent on FB. I don't even talk about my charges on Facebook. I mentioned that I would like to do some babysitting on the side and asked her whether she would be ok with that. Also asked whether she could give a reference if I needed one. She agreed and told me that she didn't care what I did with my off hours as long as I show up on time for my next shift. She says that she isn't worried about someone trying to hire me away because her baby is the easiest baby ever. It would be stupid for me to leave the easiest child in the world for a more difficult child. I will be so thankful when I have another position!
