If the family wants to not have the nanny blow a year’s worth of sick and pto in the first few months then quit, I understand. I willingly agree to that, but i negotiate that accrual starts from day one, and if I choose to leave during that time, I forfeit the accrued time; if I am let go (no fault), they pay out; or if I stay, I can use it whenever I want after the three months (I set my pto dates with reasonable notice to the family so they can arrange coverage).[/quote]
