The parents I work with have no good manners. I can't wait to leave. I'm the only one teaching good manners to thier kids.
Omg... I can't believe we are exactly in the same situation now. I have been with this family for over a month; a family with 3. 5 , 3 and a 8 months old. The two older kids are so rude to me; disrespect me all the time and parents don't do anything; even this it's in front of them. They haven't how teach good manners all. They never say "I'm sorry" and even they are so rude and mean in front of them; they don't correct them at all. This is so dissapointing. Even when I have talked to the parents about it; the say " awww they are so tired" " awww they don't know" "awww maybe they just need this thing this way or that way" "awww never they were hungry" . How sad and dissapointing I have found work for this family. It's my very first time.. working with parents and kids with so good behavior and lack or manners. They don't know the meaning of 'thank you" and please. Very sad situation. I gave already my 2 weeks of notice!
I'm so happy for you!! You did good!! I learned late but my nanny friends taught me that I shouldn't let my boss take advantage of me. And it's disgusting when few white dads flirts at me. Ugh. I can't imagine how parents treats Hispanic nannies, they tend to just take it. I'm Hispanic. But enough is enough. My boss doesn't respect me and my time. The best rules nanny can have is good manners. GOOD MANNERS is everything!! They found a daycare spot without telling me. I hope the next family is nicer like others. Its awful to see parents especially mothers babying, making excuses to their kids behavior from 2 years old to 12 years old. The boy hits, escapes from his own mother! That kid without discipline will have a hard time at school. I feel bad for the next nanny or teachers. Most caregivers and even asistants deserves so much bonuses and gifts. Many parents don't appreciate experienced nannies and teachers. Trust when a nanny tells you something. Good manners is good, the best teaching and base in everywhere.
