My first family made me Godmother to their second child and I still see them regularly. My second family still invited me over for all holidays and birthday parties and we speak and visit regularly. My current employers had me over for Thanksgiving and Christmas this past year due to covid and I’m very close to them. Only one couple really used me, lied to me, and refused to ever let me visit or even say goodbye to my charge of three years. Conversely, I have known of two nannies who walked away from their charges and never even visited even though the parents and children begged them. So it goes both ways. I’ve heard nannies tell their charges how much they love them and then never bother to see or talk to the children once the paychecks stop. I think it’s worse to ghost a child rather than an adult nanny when the job ends. [/quote]
