I don’t know a single nanny who writes a contract with severance as one week of pay per year worked. That would mean no severance in the first year and only 1-2 weeks early on, but upwards of a month for a nanny who stays with a family for 5 years and is suddenly let go (due to something like job loss, presumably). Most contracts seem to be written for either 2 or 4 weeks of notice/severance, and length of employment doesn’t matter.[/quote]
