I was being paid full-time while my 3 charges were in school, and was free to use school time for personal use (assuming my work was done and knowing that I was “on call” at all times). Now, my job is way harder and it definitely FEELS like my hours doubled, since I’m now with kids all day/every day instead of for a half hour in the morning and a few hours each afternoon. I realize this is why my employers chose to keep full-time help even after all kids were in school, but dang if it hasn’t been a huge shock to my routine! [/quote]
