Of course the rates seem high when you are paying your nanny a very low wage. Op, of course there is no one set rate. Typically for ppl who can actually afford a nanny and get the truly great nannies you are paying between $12-$15 per family. [/quote]

:lol: I'm actually a nanny, and insulted that you base my "worth" on inflated rates on this forum. Notice that none of the PPs listing rates actually specify which area? There are several Los Angeles nannies on this board who will chime in with their rates when the OP specifically asks about DMV rates. [/quote]

As a nanny working a nanny share in the DMV, I’m insulted you don’t think your worth, time and skill are worth more than $9-$10 an hour. Sorry but it’s not an inflated rate to get paid at least between $12-$15 for a nanny share. I’ve turned down nanny share families who offered to only pay $10 bc I know the work that goes into the job and I’m aware of what other ppl are willing to pay for a service that is important to them. If that low wage is acceptable to you and makes you happy then more power to you. [/quote]
