I interviewed for an after-school nanny job yesterday and am still mad about it. The parents were there and so was the child AND SO WAS THE FORMER FULL TIME NANNY. Now this nanny has a new full time job but still sees the child every week, who she was with since birth. I totally get the bonding and attachment the kid and old nanny have for each other BUT... This old nanny grilled me at the interview! The parents sat there smiling while this bitch nanny asked me about CPR training and asked to see the certificate!!! I was a little late to the interview (not my fault) and when the nanny told me how important it was to pick up the kid from school on time I said "of course" and then she goes, "Well you were late today so I am concerned." She asked me about my college degree, where I went to school, where I worked in the past, etc. Fast questions and she was not smiling. The whole thing was just really uncomfortable. The parents did ask me a few questions and I thought I did good with them. I am sure the old nanny did not like me and will not say anything nice to the parents about me. So much for solidarity with other nannies, right?!
