I am not the same poster as the OP from this thread: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/nanny-forum/posts/list/324973.page I read the foregoing thread and it reminded me of something similar in my situation. DC's nanny has been with us about six months (DC is about a year old now) and has been calling DC "my baby" from the beginning. Unlike the wife from the other thread, I DO NOT MIND the nanny showing DC affection, I welcome it! We have no family in the area and nanny is the next closest thing. I am fine with nanny hugging DC and saying "I love you." But I get annoyed that nanny calls DC "my baby" because he is NOT her baby. DC is my and my husband's baby. No one else, not even the grandparents say "my baby." At the beginning it was really bad, I think nanny was going through some personal problems because a few times she got really emotional and teary-eyed, hugging DC and saying "oh my sweet baby" "I love you, my baby" over and over and thank goodness it only lasted a week because I definitely would have said something to her if it continued. I've asked other MBs and they also feel uncomfortable anyone outside immediate family saying "my baby." Are we MBs just overreacting or is this not cool?
I see lots Spanish nanny saying that refer the kids like my,baby,my kid and blabla bla,am a nanny when I refer to the kids I say,the kids I am taking care I never say my kis.but about love we really love them,is impossible not to love this inocente Angels.
