I have had a nanny for almost a year and everything seemed to be going well. We have cameras in the house that we use as baby monitors and nanny cams. She is well aware that they are there and uses them frequently herself. A few days ago, I was at work and decided to check in. The nanny was with my daughter (2 yo) but on her phone the whole time - approximately 10 minutes. My daughter was trying to get her attention and she never once looked up. She then began to give my daughter her bottle (I know, 2 yo is too big for bottle), then stopped, picked up the phone and started to use it. My daughter walked around for awhile and tried to get her attention again; still no luck. This basically went on for another 10 minutes and then she finished her bottle. Later on, I checked in and she was with both my kids (+9 mo old son). My daughter was jumping on the couch. My son was crawling around and she was on her phone. He crawled to her and pulled himself up holding on to her knees, stumbled and fell. She did not look up from her phone. The next day, she took my daughter to the mall for a kids program. I had an errand there and decided to stop by. There was no sign of them anywhere; I checked the play areas and nothing. When she got home about 2 hours later, I asked how the mall was and she timidly told me that it was fun, lots of singing. I asked if they want to the play area and she didn't look me in the eye but said, yes for a few minutes. I am really disappointed by all of this...I'm not sure that I trust her and that basically destroys my ability to keep her...any thoughts?
