$17 was the going rate according to care.com for the area. I even said after I said $17 that I was willing to go lower. I didn't actually expect 17. Would have been nice to be paid $14-15 though.[/quote]

Minimum wage applies to real business hun, not every single work transaction in the area. I can pay the neighbor kid $5 to spend 2 hours cutting my grass, totally legal. And I can pay the babysitter under minimum wage if I want. Fortunately here the minimum wage is very low, lower than I would ever pay a babysitter so no worry.[/quote]
