Exactly! You would think they would give me the benefit of the doubt and at least sit down and talk to me to know what really happened but they did not and that was my problem with how the agency handled it. I was being wrongly accused of things that never happened. It was ok If she didn't like me anymore and I did something that annoyed her and she did not want me anymore but why make up stories to get my completely wiped out?! Accusing someone of giving newborn babies adult meds is a serious accusation but at the end of the day she was the one bringing money to the agency so they just didn't give a flying crap about me and I think agencies should treat their nannies with a little more respect. And as for the references, my most recent references (expect the part time employee I was with for 3 years and left for this FT job) was families through the agency. Since I had a par time job throughout all my time with the agency I only took back up and temps jobs so those families couldn't be used as a reference. I had the employee I was with for three years prior to this job and she was always very willing to help out with references as we still have a close relationship, but I did not want t keep bothering them with giving out references. We all know in this field it takes a couple of interviews to find the right job.
