I've been working with a family for about 6 months lately a lot has made me feel it's no longer a good fit. Few examples I never receive any off time - parents will come home 15 minutes early sit in car until exactly 6:00 before coming inside. Charge had An appointment I was told I could have the day off, then the day before asked to come in after the appointment which I did. I have guaranteed hours was asked to come in the same week a half hour early I explained to MB that would be overtime she agreed and as usual look at my check and no overtime pay. Due to them running late if they're not home during in car I usually have to stay about 15 minutes late every week and I'm never paid for the time. Please offer suggestions if you have any to help, thank you
they are only 15 minutes in total a week? that's fine. and they can pay you pro rata if that is really bothering you they sit in their car doing work calls, emails until 6pm instead of coming in and letting you race out the door? that's fine, get over it. (BTW, our nanny gets here at 7:15am and sits in her car til 7:30am and there have been no issues on either side). they changed their mind and wanted you to work on a day the charge had a 1-2 hour appt? sounds fine, they can change their mind, they are paying you $100-200 a day to do something. you have guaranteed hours on a WEEKLY basis and you want to stick it to them on an DAILY basis for coming in 30 minutes early due to one of their early work obligations? don't be a nanny if that bothers you. you want "time off"? to do what? You are a nanny, you are there to provide reliable childcare so both parents can do their respective jobs.
