Have you come home unexpectedly on occasion, or had guests in the home to observe (visiting grandparents for instance)?

Do you have a good level of communication w/ the nanny?  One where you're having developmental discussions of when to start solids, or "look what she learned today", or when the next doctor's visit is, etc...  Does the nanny alert you if she thinks she sees signs of teething, or ear infections, or anything like that?

Do you have a partner w/ whom the nanny is interacting and is the communication there equally comfortable and in line w/ what you observe?
