Really helpful.[/quote] You need to account for the fact that whoever you hire will presumably be expected to take care of your school aged child any time that they ARE NOT in school (sick days, teacher in services, vacations....). If you want this person to be available, you need to negotiate that into the rate or come up with two rates, one for child A only and one for A & B. This tends to get overly complicated, however... Do a search of the forum, there are a lot of things I don't really know that you have even considered here. Live-ins seem like a great way to save some money, especially if you feel as though you have the space, but in reality are just not a good fit for [i]most [/i] families, particularly ones who have never employed a nanny at all.
