We are interested in hiring a part time nanny - 34 to 36 hours guaranteed/set schedule a week. We are paying mid-range for our area. Do we need to offer federal holiday pay? What about sick days/personal days? If we give her a lot of notice, will we still have to pay her while we are away on vacation? Thanks in advance.
OP, You are so close to asking for FT hours, why are you cutting it off at 34 to 36? You should give her/him the full benefits, otherwise you will most likely be looking for another nanny. signed, another MB
OP here: We only need a nanny for four days a week as that is what I work. I was hoping that maybe at 18 an hour I wouldn't need to offer full benefits - but you are all probably right. I'd really like to find a nanny who is happy working for us and good to my child so I will offer full benefits. Thanks all.
