I'm embarrassed of the people posting this site. The OP just sent everybody a safety reminder, and you are all on her back about how she unjustly fired a nanny? I am a nanny and if I ever did something unsafe I would expect to be fired. I'm in charge of children's lives. Shame on all of you for talking down to this woman. People like you are why horrible behavior goes unreported or why people don't want to get involved
Who's to say the witness didn't make it up? Nobody is suggesting that neglectful or abusive behavior should go unreported. It is horrible to publicly list someone as a child abuser without that person ever having been prosecuted or even charged with a crime. I guarantee that if you were accused of something, you would want your day in court prior to being labelled a danger to children and blacklisted from your profession. The way I'm understanding this is that someone witnessed OP's nanny do something dangerous with a child. The person reported the nanny and now anyone who calls about her will be told she had a CPS report filed against her. The nanny could have cut this woman off in traffic for all you know. You just don't know. It's absolutely ridiculous to suggest that because I question the legality of this practice that I support and condone child abuse.
