Actually you're completely wrong. The United States has no offical language. Many people speak American English but as our country becomes more diverse the most common language will also be Spanish. Think about it, everything is translated into Spanish now. It would be wise for everyone to learn Spanish or a second language in general. We are one of the only first world countries where the majority of our citizens aren't bilingual. I don't think OP needs to learn Spanish just to fit in because I have a feeling that these nannies don't feel connected to her or want her friendship. Im around a lot nannies of different ethic backgrounds and none of them would exclude me from a conversation by speaking their native language. Op needs to move on to a different group of individuals who are interested in becoming friends. Maybe that means searching for nanny groups online or going to different areas of the city for children activities. [/quote]
