this: "just as in every profession, you normally get what you pay for" is so amazingly false within the average rates of things, I can't even stand it.  A nanny willing to work for $10/hour, sure, I'll bet she's not going to be as great as one who charges $30/hour.  A haircut that costs $500?  Sure, probably better than haircuttery.  A contractor/architect building you a $100,000 deck?  Probably going to be better than that guy down the street willing to do it for $10k.  Heck, at my job, the higher paid people are typically the old people who are just biding their time until retirement.  It's the new 20-somethings making crap that are the go-getters.

Within the standard $15/hour to $20/hour positions, what the nanny charges is NOT going to "normally" be commensurate with more service for more pay. [/quote]
