They do have an extra "nanny" car, but the mom said that if we could switch each morning it would be easier. I do not know how could that be easier.
If they have an extra nanny car for you to use it presumably has carseats already installed in it. You driving the nanny car is the simplest solution. That's what the car is there for. I'm with the poster who said it sounds like MB just wants an opportunity to drive your car since it's nicer than hers. She might be trying to live vicariously through you. The only other reason she might suggest this is if she is trying to cut costs by eliminating the nanny car, but even if this is the case the carseats that are presumably in the nanny car can be transferred to your car. Then they pay you mileage. If they don't have extra carseats then they need to buy another set for your car. I would approach the conversation something along theses lines... "MB I'd like to talk about the idea you brought up regarding switching cars during the day. What was your thinking behind switching cars being easier?" See what she gives as her thinking behind this request. Once she's done giving her reasoning (and it doesn't mean listening is going to change you mind...just that you'll have more insight into why she made the request) explain your reasons for not wanting to do this. "I gave your request some thought over the weekend and have come to the conclusion that I not comfortable with the idea of switching cars. Here is why I would prefer to use the nanny car and leave my at the house during the day (or use your car): xyz reasons." Then ask her how she would like to resolve this issue now that she knows switching vehicles is not an option. Good luck...this is an odd request, but it's also one I've heard of once before. It worked for the nanny and family in that situation, but the MB was just using the nanny's car to drive it to a train station a couple miles away so there really wasn't that much extra wear and tear put on the nanny's car (which wasn't nearly as nice as MB's car to begin with).
