I definitely don't need a reference from them. I would try to give them as much notice as possible! I guess I am wondering if family A is "spoiling" me with the wonderfullness! Are most Nanny family relations so respectful? I would think yes
My last mb/family sounds a lot like your B family. They were nice enough, but I never felt appreciated or respected. I left that family for the family I am with now and it is like a completely different profession. Just yesterday my mb told me I would get a bonus on this weeks check on top of my hourly wage because I was flexible and stayed later for her on a day she was running late from work. My mb tells me multiple times a week how lucky she and her family is to have me, and I remind her how generous and great she is as well. We have a AWESOME relationship and both go out of our ways to help each other because that's how much we respect each other. You deserve to be happy where you are working! There are greener pastures elsewhere for sure.
