I have a p/t nanny and made a huge mistake of telling her to help herself to food in the house and I literally feel like we have a third adult living with us. She eats all of our expensive salad items, deli meats and leftovers. We already pay her very well so it's leaving us in a tough spot because groceries are so expensive. even though she's only p/t she eats enough as if she was here f/t! my DH thinks she is taking food home with her. you just need to be very clear and forward. maybe provide her with a stipend, although most people who work full time don't receive a stipend for food or have breakfast/lunch/dinner provided so i've always wondered why its different for nannies or sitters!! sorry i'm not trying to offend anyone.
