I've been sick 2 times in the past 14 months, most recently, last week (2 days) after looking after her sick child. I called her at 9:00 the night before to let her know I wouldn't make it. I was quite sick for almost 2 weeks (this is a part time position, so MB doesn't see me every day). I had tried to call out the week before, but ended up working two half days because she was adamant there was no one she could call and was really in a bind. I agree that we need better communication, but I'm not sure what she asked for is reasonable. Just wanting to see what others think so I/we can work out a better solution. I don't want to be unreasonable but I've never had an employer who had a problem with me calling in the morning if I was sick or making a big deal of not being able to work it out. Just trying to sort out a better way for next time...[/quote]
