I'm hoping you meant to be funny, because that made me laugh out loud!

IDK. I think the possibilities for grossness would be MUCH worse if nanny tried to make a single tampon last 12+ hours.

Just as someone in my NF has left #2 in the toilet un-flushed, tampons have been left unwrapped in the trashcan, a suspicious tissue was found near the couch. I have always disposed of these things silently and without being awkward at the end of the day.
Try to realize that you are sharing a house with a relative stranger and these things are just going to happen. Just roll with it. She is just as mortified as you are.

I don't even understand this. In my entire life, neither the family I grew up with nor the family I created has EVER done this. How hard is it to flush, and double-check that you flushed?

The family only had one bathroom so maybe someone was in the shower and a kid was using the toilet, didn't flush at the time, and then it was forgotten?? And WHAT do you really say in that situation? Gross stuff happens, adults should be able to handle it discreetly and let it go. I'm sure OP's nanny realized later what she inadvertently did and feels mortified, saying something will only make it worse.

BTW, OP, what did you end up doing?
