The family only had one bathroom so maybe someone was in the shower and a kid was using the toilet, didn't flush at the time, and then it was forgotten?? And WHAT do you really say in that situation? Gross stuff happens, adults should be able to handle it discreetly and let it go. I'm sure OP's nanny realized later what she inadvertently did and feels mortified, saying something will only make it worse.
