BTW you are not going to hear from the vast majority of nannies on this issue as they are paid weekly, in cash, and illegally.

This.

This is an unfair assumption to make. You cannot just assume something like this and make it FACTUAL PP.

Anyway, most nannies get paid weekly or bi-weekly, so this is not usual, but if it works for you and you are okay with it and good with budgeting your money, then I do not see a problem with it.

For me it would be a little tough because I prefer to be paid at least every two weeks since I am not so good at budgeting my money.

To each his own, I suppose.

We pay our nanny semi-monthly (15th and 30th) because it makes doing taxes much easier (I can see the end-of-quarter and end-of-year amounts on the paystubs without having to recalculate anything). She is still paid hourly, however. I'm not sure how we could "stiff" her. If she quit of got fired before a regular pay day, I'd either pay her early or just pay her the hours owed on pay day.

OP, if you don't think monthly will work for you, why not ask about semi-monthly? It might work just as well for your NF's purposes.

I get paid weekly by check (legally).

I'm paid weekly by cash or check, under the table. Pretty much ideal situation.

Agree or disagree with this arrangement, it's the most common option. Few parents have aspirations of a presidential appointment in all reality, even in Washington.

Hopefully the payroll company that your employer is using told them that as a non-exempt employee, you're covered by wage and hour laws and eligible for overtime if you work over a certain number of hours per week. That is much easier to track if you're paid weekly or even bi-weekly. Some states require weekly.

I am paid weekly direct deposit. I have never heard of anyone getting paid monthly, and frankly i don't think I'd like it.

Yeah, until you get caught and owe a shitload of taxes and penalties, or get fired/laid off and aren't eligible for unemployment. Or you know, if you ever need to prove that you're employed.

Actually, almost all the positions I applied for and interviewed with were paid above the table. It would have been hard to find a position that didn't take out taxes. Babysitting, that's obviously another story. I am paid weekly legally.
