Your MB would be exhausted recovering from childbirth and needs help. I would go in unless I was puking sick and literally couldn't get up from bed

Bull. I've had three kids and this "exhaustion" after childbirth is a load of crap put out by lazy women.

Let me guess. You have a husband at home, a nanny, friends and neighbors to deliver food, and you formula feed (allowing all those people to do that job too).

At two weeks I hadn't even been cleared to drive.

Nor had I but then I didn't need to drive because I had a husband who was at work. However, I have a brain and used it by cooking and freezing enough dinners to last a month. Yes, I had some gelp, my 55 yr old aunt for a week. After she left, amazingly, I coped with two young children and a new born. Now, I know that I am no better organized than most women but we managed very well. Unfortunately, today's oung e i men have the idea that they should be treated like hit hoyse orchids, beautiful and rare, and too good to do anything for themselves.

OP's MB should get off her lazy duff and take care of her children. The nanny is sick and should stay home until well

Human beings?
A few years ago I managed to end up with three bouts of tonsillitis and strep throat between March and May (yeah, my own fault, I thought I could just man up and work through it, stupid me) which led to a peritonsillar abscess and surgery with a week long hospital stay and another week of recovery at home where I was to weak to even walk down to get the mail. All in all I was on sick leave 20 work days that year (including a week before surgery because I couldn't open my mouth more than 1/4 inch, couldn't talk and was running a 102 - 104 fever before they could fit me in for surgery). Thankfully I live and work in a civilized country where employer allow their employees to be sick.

If you can't handle people getting sick you need to employ a robot or put your child in daycare where you have multiple child minders for a group so that one of the human beings getting sick won't inconvenience you. And anyone who allows a child minder who even might possibly have the flu or strep or whatever to come in with a 2 week old baby in the home (who is already exposed to sibling's cold) needs to take a minute and think about if that really is a great idea. MB just had a baby. She is not sick. Unlike CM.

Wow judgy perfect mom poster! How do you know what kind of birth she had maybe she had as c section and not allowed to lift toddler or some other complication. Not everyone can be up and running like you did. Get off your high horse.

I am a nanny and beyond colds, I have never called in sick or been sick for the last ten years. You are unwell and certainly not the norm.

I would NEVER make my MB care for multiple children at one time. Especially if she JUST HAD A BABY, she's basically disabled! OP, screw your cold/flu, get to work!

If a woman is incapable of taking care of her children, without help, then she should not have had them. Also, childbirth does NOT disable a woman. Where do you get all this nonsense? From your lazy MB?

Clearly the sarcasm was lost on you...

I have yet to take a sick day in almost three years with this current jig but my family before I got a severe kidney infection and missed three days in one week. Life happens. I tend to suck it up with colds and such.

Seriously, I have not called in sick for over ten years either. Yes, I have had my share of colds and a few bouts of the flu (all acquired from my charges) but never felt horrible enough to not work.

3 days in 2 years is of course not too much. But if your MB needs you, then you better go if you want to keep the job.
