Hi everyone, we are a family here in DC with a toddler and a newborn who was just born on March 14th. Like many of you, we have been stressing over the local daycare waitlists and nanny rates, so we decided to go the au pair route with Cultural Care.
I wanted to share a quick tip on the fees that I haven't seen mentioned much here. There is currently a $1,000 regional discount for DC families, and I found out it actually stacks with a host family referral credit. Using a referral link adds another $250 off, which brought our total discount to $1,250. The $1,000 regional promo is set to end April 30th, so if you are planning to match for a summer or fall start, it is a good time to do it to lock in that extra savings. If you are a new family and need a referral link to get the extra $250 on top of the DC discount, feel free to use ours: https://www.culturalcare.com/refer/?referralId=AD37D4FD We are also curious to hear from any other parents here who have used an au pair for a newborn. Any specific interview questions you found helpful or tips for the first few weeks? |

If you are using an au pair for a newborn AND a toddler at the same time you are nuts.
Hopefully you are just trying to advertise for CC au pair and not a real family. |

I suggest you consider a different agency. Cultural Care is mid at their best, completely irresponsible and unresponsive when things go south. Be aware that no one holds these companies accountable in any measure.
