Searching for Nanny in Early 2026

We are first-time parents seeking help with our three-month-old newborn as we both return to work in January 2026. We are interested in developing a long-term relationship with a nanny and have a strong preference for someone who speaks French.

We currently live near Logan Circle but are moving to Georgetown, where we will be in the long term. Initially, some time near Logan Circle may be required, but we will eventually be in Georgetown.

Care responsibilities would include playing with the baby, including engaging activities that will help his strengthen motor skills, feeding (bottles and solids), stroller walks/time outdoors, reading, putting down for naps, and keeping to a general sleep schedule.

Eventually, responsibilities would include facilitating classes (swimming, organized sports, etc.) and age-appropriate activities. We strongly prefer candidates who will adhere to our no-screen policy.

Household tasks would include tasks associated with our son – cleaning and tidying the nursery, newborn laundry, and maintaining general tidiness in the home. This person is not responsible for wider house cleaning or laundry. However, if this is of interest, we would be willing to negotiate those services as well.
Our household includes a dog, so applicants must be comfortable with (but not responsible for) a dog in the house. Our dog is a nine-year-old, well-tempered and behaved Golden Doodle.

This nanny would be responsible for facilitating other services at our home. Examples include our dog walker and house cleaners.
Qualities that are important to us include kindness, compassion, promptness, and effective and advanced communication skills.

We are ideally aiming for someone to help between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with the potential for overtime and regularly advanced scheduled weekend evenings.

Other preferred qualifications include…
Infant CPR and First Aid (family would facilitate training)
Valid driver’s license. While we do not anticipate an immediate need for driving, occasional driving may be helpful.

My name is Ablavi. I have been taking care of babies for more than 20 years. I do everything from feeding, changing, napping, walks, reading (French & English), activities, and getting them ready for bed (depending on the time of the schedule ). I adore all children.
