have you looked at rents in that area recently, pp? You want your nanny to live in a cardboard box? Even Silver Spring minimum is $2K a month

As a former Nanny I didn’t expect my nanny salary to allow me to live in a SFH alone.
I shared a house and had roommates. I didn’t live in a cardboard box and still had money to run my own car, go on vacation, live life etc.
The expectation that as a Nanny you have the right to pay rent on your own or own a home is absurd. Most new teachers couldn’t afford to do that.

No one is talking about sfh but yes, nanny should be able to rent her own place however small but with no roommates, and having a parking space is non negotiable for me since the last thing I want to do is to look for parking spot when I arrive home from work. I make $38 in that area, no health stipend but $150 gas stipend with guaranteed 40 hrs. I am sure my employer would not want me to be bothered with roommates as I need my sanity

Most new teachers in MoCo start at 80K a year, so yes they can afford to rent a nice place

Nanny and nanny share rates in CCMD dependent on experience

1 child is $22-25/hr
2 children in the same family $25-28/hr
Twins $28-30/hr
3 children in the same family $30/hr
Nanny shares $35-40/hr

agree with PP except starting rate is $25, never saw a nanny who would accept $22 though of course the zero experience ones may

NO-FALSE new teachers in MOCO aren’t paid 80k/year and to rent a nice place you’re talking about $2000/month plus parking
