It’s been a long time since I used my own car for work. I am a career nanny, and I don’t really care what people think about nannies using their own car. I’m aware of things like wear and tear and mileage. My insurer knows I’m a nanny, and me and the child are not the same race, so I’m not trying to take the risk of lying. I need the appropriate coverage.
I would like to know if anyone added a commercial rider to their insurance policy. Are the parents named? How much does it cost? Given my total assets, I’m probably over-insured at 10x state minimums. |
I’ve gotten quotes from 2 different insurance companies IF I’d have agreed to use my own vehicle, the monthly premium was very high therefore parents decided to lease a small suv to drive the kids and they listed me in their auto insurance. Worked out way better, truly i don’t like to use my personal vehicle the mileage reimbursement plus gas allowance doesn’t cover wear and tear UNLESS the family agrees to be responsable for tires, oil change and maintenance. Good Luck! |
