Hi, I am going to ask my nanny if she’d be willing to travel during the work week for 4 nights - would only be working a few hours each day and have her own room so nothing overnight. On top of her regular rate, what do you typically pay during travel? |
$100 overnight convenience few. |
If it’s not in your contract she’s required to travel she has the right to decline and you still have to pay under guaranteed hours. She may not want to travel. Ask her but don’t be disappointed if she declines. |
$100 for overnight plus pay hourly rate for traveling hours as well as hours worked. |
If you only need a few hours a day and you're staying in a resort or hotel, see if they have an in house nanny or a nanny company they contract with. You will save a ton of money.
The nannies here will say you should pay 24/7 for nanny's time, even if the nanny is literally only needed for 4 hours and they are sightseeing and having fun on their own the rest of the time. You will also have to pay for a separate room as well as meals, and the plane ticket. |
+1. We travel a lot and we save probably 80% going this route. It’s usually through a nanny service so they’re vetted and professional. |
What’s the point of having the nanny come only to work a few hours. Seems like it’s a waste. |
+1 agree. She doesn’t have to come and stay home that time with pay |
A flat fee of $100/daily in addition to her hourly rate even if you use her services 3 or 4 hours daily she’s guaranteed her weekly hours. |
