...and why you put up with your current one. |
This is what young children need, OP.
1. Stability 2. Competence 3. Love No one needs to be perfect. OP sounds like an agency trying to drum up business. |
Someone who arrives on time every day, genuinely enjoys children, has experience with kids my kids ages, had initiative when planning the day/activities, cpr And first aid trained.
I do not need nanny to have a degree or speak more than one language. |
Same pp. someone who communicate well. |
...all of above plus loyal to my family, will not leave me for someone who speaks to her at the playground and tries to offer her a higher rate |
WRONG: someone offers higher rate and better benefits and she’d quit on you or give you notice. Money talk$, never forget this! |
This is really tone deaf to say to a group of workers that historically have been exploited and primarily still live pay check to pay check. My heart breaks when I read all the nanny posts on subreddits saying they've been with the family for 5 years, haven't gotten a raise, are $200 in the hole every month, but love the kids too much to leave. Everyone deserves career advancement. I myself went 2 years without health insurance because I loved my nanny family, but I wasn't making enough to afford health insurance. |
My ideal nanny IS our current one. Always on time, takes maybe two sick days a year, always cheerful and helpful, a problem-solver, great with the kids, tons of energy and patience, firm but kind. Worth every penny. |
I know a nanny who left her family to the one that offered better rate, new family did not work out, nanny left within 6 weeks, and the previous family has already hired someone else. She had a few month job search as a result. So, nannies, negotiate better rate with existing family, do not switch just for the money. There are lots of other things at play.
My ideal nanny is someone I am comfortable to have in my house all day! Who does not leave a mess after herself! |
PP without health insurance, the less you make the cheaper plan you get on healthcare dot gov |
Ideal nanny is quiet and kind, with excellent manners |
Ideal Nanny:
• Punctual • Reliable • 100% trustworthy • Responsible • Clean + Organized • Engaging w/children |
Driving/has their own car they are willing to use on the job?
Up to date on Covid vaccine? Willing to be "flexible" with hours? |
You mean available 24/7? |
there is no "perfect" nanny in the real world but there are lots of pretty good ones if you know what to look for. |
