Where are you? People are paying $30/hr for one kid in the DMV! |
An infant and 3 older kids, you’re looking at $35. After 40 hours, legal OT paid, 2 weeks of PTO, unlimited sick days and health Insurance stipend. |
2 weeks? Nanny gonna burn out quick. |
What happens when older kids are sick or have a random day off? Are they camp every day in the summer? Spring break? |
$35hr. It's a 4 kid job no matter how you cut it and if you advertise it as "one infant plus 2 hours with older kids" you will lose almost all career nannies immediately. Unless the nanny will truly never be responsible for the older kids' laundry, meal prep, toy clean up, transportation, coverage on sick days, no school days, school breaks, summer break, etc then it's a 4 kid job. |
I think personally a lot of factors need to be determined here such as #1….what part of the country you live at.
Also what do you require from a Nanny re: education, work/personal experience as well as certifications necessary. Also are there any add’l household duties aside from basic childcare such as laundry duties, dinner prep/cooking, etc. But overall for four children, no matter what part of the country that you may live in > I wouldn’t think anything lower than say….$30/Hr. Hope this helps! |
We have four kids at two full timers. One is a housekeeper who cooks, the other is a nanny who drives and does some cleaning. We need coverage 7 days a week so it’s too many hours for one person. We pay each of them $30/hr for 45 hours a week |
DC/MD the going rate for 1 child $30. Your best bet is to call agencies and find out. |
This 100%! |
Nannying = raising children, not cleaning someone's house.
I guess you are looking for a desperate immigrant, not professional child-rearer? |
