About three months ago I interviewed for a summer nanny position. I was offered the job through an email stating the pay and weeks to work. During our interview, they asked if I was committed to make sure they weren’t scrambling for childcare at the last second. I babysat for them a couple of times over the next couple months while I was still taking college classes, and everything went great. I got an email a couple weeks ago saying that they changed their mind because the grandparents would now be in town to watch the kids. Now I am left scrambling for a job, with most of the internship and nannying positions filled in my town. Thoughts or advise? |
Unless you had a contract, there’s nothing you can do, unfortunately. |
You should have taken a retainer fee to hold your services for that long. |
They will want you soon enough again. Grandparents are usually burnt out in couple of weeks. They forgot that taking care of a kid is no joke. You can still be nice and offer them to babysit, that way when grandparents are done, you will have the job. |
You should be able to find a nanny job for the summer. |
Bull. Screw me once. Shame on you. Screw me twice, Shame on me. They screwed her once so why would she ever trust them again. OP, you dodged a bullet. Move one and do not look back. |
