We are currently about to interview 2 great AP candidates for a 3rd time this weekend. In the meantime, a new "extraordinaire" au pair candidate who would be perfect for us came online (she has experience teaching at a school for kids with autism, and our DS is autistic) and we are talking to her for a first time, also this weekend.
How does one "buy time" in the interview process? I don't want to lose the candidates we are talking to, but I also would like to get to know this new girl? How do you know when someone is a great option vs. a match? |
You tell the candidates that you're interviewing 3 in total and need a bit more time.
I usually know by the end of the first interview if someone is going to be a good fit. All subsequent interviews are just to cross the t's and dot the i's. Sounds like all 3 are great options. Don't overthink it. |
Hi OP, side question - we also have a child with ASD - which agency has options for APs with special needs experience? |
